How it works

Scope and limits
- Switch between sheets with tabs. Large sheets open quickly because only the visible part is drawn. Click a cell to see its full content and stored value.
- Applies number, date, time, percent and currency formats, and reflects merged cells, column widths, hidden rows and columns, bold text, text and fill colors, and alignment.
- Formulas are not recalculated; the result stored in the file is shown. Formula cells in files that did not store results (made by some tools) may look empty.
- Charts, images, shapes, conditional formatting, borders, frozen panes, row heights and text wrapping are not shown.
- Password-protected workbooks, legacy .xls and binary .xlsb cannot be opened, nor can files over 200 MB.

Is my Excel file uploaded?
No. Everything stays in this browser.
Formula cells are empty.
This viewer does not calculate formulas; it shows the results stored in the file. Open a file that has been saved once in Excel.
Can I open .xls files?
No. Save the file as .xlsx in Excel first. CSV files open in the CSV viewer.
